Meet the hosts
While David grew up in a mental hospital because his father worked in one, Kacey’s dad needed to be in one.
They share a passion for talking to strangers, making the impossible possible, and letting others know they are not alone in their struggles or their dreams. Hence, this podcast was born.
David Conolly
David Conolly is an award-winning writer, director and comedian. Most recently he starred alongside Rhea Seehorn, Lou Mustillo, Whitney Cummings, and Phil Lamarr in AMC’s Emmy-nominated COOPER’S BAR, which David also co-wrote and co-directed. As a comedian, David has headlined across the USA and competed in the World Series of Comedy, the San Francisco International and Seattle International comedy competition, and starred on Stand Up and Deliver for Jenifer Lopez’s Nuvo TV. David has written for stars such as John Cleese, Kelsey Grammar and Liz Hurley. With his wife, Hannah, David has directed four movies. Originally from the UK, David has appeared in plays on the West End and on television and film, both sides of the Atlantic. However, his biggest claim to fame is being the host for the World Marbles Competition, which that year was won by a Cuban in a sandpit in France. David, thought of retiring after that peak, but was sadly broke, so had to keep surviving the dream.
Kacey Arnold
Kacey Arnold is an Annie Award-nominated writer. To date, her top 3 career highlights are losing an Annie to Matt Stone and Trey Parker (where she learned it truly is an honor just to be nominated), getting a self-deprecating Barbie to do a spit take in one of her BARBIE movies (before Greta made her even cooler), and becoming a LEGO mini figure while serving as co-producer/head writer/story editor of LEGO Friends: Girls on a Mission. In addition to her other film & TV writing, Kacey has been the face of a Big Lots campaign, a national touring standup comedian, Produced and Directed A GUY CALLED DAD, a feature documentary about mental illness which has been used as a teaching tool by the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and has developed content for companies like Peacock, Titmouse, Mattel, Sesame Workshop, The Jim Henson Company, and Nickelodeon. On her path to “success”, Kacey graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with honors, had the pleasure of being an intern at LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O’BRIEN, a script PA at SNL, and an assistant to directors, producers, agents, writers, and showrunners that helped her hone her coffee making skills and survive the dream.
